OUR STORY

Hackney Wolves has grown through community basketball, open sessions and team programmes across Hackney. This page records the club’s development season by season using retained attendance records and verified external sources.

THE SEASONS

2020/21

The earliest retained club attendance records begin in May 2021, with U9 and U12 sessions at Millfields Park and summer activity continuing through August.

EXPLORE SEASON

2021/22

The programme expanded into regular indoor and outdoor delivery, including U9 and U12 open sessions, early team programmes and tournament activity.

Regular indoor delivery established at Clapton Girls’ Academy.

2022/23

Hackney Wolves broadened its programme across more venues, age groups and team environments, and became Hackney Wolves Basketball CIC in July 2023.

2023/24

The club’s programme continued to expand across Hackney, while Basketball England listed Hackney Wolves in the 2023/24 U14 Boys National Basketball League structure.

2024/25

Hackney Wolves expanded its venue network and programme offer, received a £36,000 Investec Beyond Business award, and joined community work around the Hackney Downs courts.

The club continued a broad multi-venue programme across Hackney, with open, minibasket, Pay & Play and team training running through the 2025/26 season.

Today, Hackney Wolves provides community, development and competitive basketball opportunities for children and young people across Hackney. The club continues to build on the verified record of each season while keeping safeguarding, inclusion, teamwork and player development at the centre.
